Should I get a fringe?

I'm looking at getting a fringe but i'm not sure whether it will suit my face shape and body. I am a 'chubby' size 14 and carry a lot of weight on my face, but I have an oval shaped face which is apparently the best you can have. I quite like to have a thicker fringe, but not sure whether this will give the illusion of being bigger than I am, skinnier, or just the same.
Please help! My hair is currently longish, so it is a pretty blank canvas. I would also welcome other suggestions.

I have quite a chubby face these days, but fancied a fringe, so my hairdresser did me a razor cut longish one, starting off centre, so I have a short side parting, which begins from centre of my right eyebrow. It becomes longer towards the sides and graduates into the hair at the sides, so my face is sort of framed.

The fringe is soft and wispy, not solid, so dosen't look harsh and blunt and it was kept long enough, so if I didn't like it, I could put it back with my ponytail
good idea to have a feathered fringe as that is less bulky and looks nicer..
