Removing Sun In Hair lightener
I have been using sun in hair lightening spray for the past 2 years on holiday, however this year since returning from holiday i have noticed that my hair has become extremely dry and brittle and is very difficult to brush when wet.
I used to only use it on holiday, however this past year when i did begin to get roots i would apply sun in usually every 6-8 weeks on my roots, however as my hair is naturally blonde I did not think it would become so damaged. I now want to remove the sun in and begin to have my hair highlighted in a salon, but my hair is extremely long and I really cant let it grow out because I have noticed that my roots are a dark blonde colour and it would look ridiculous if I grew it out due to the length of my hair, so I was wondering if there is another option of removing the sun in to go back to my natural colour?
Any advice would be much appreciated thankyou!!

all I can tell you is to give your hair loads of conditioner, really goods ones on market ,amd you will have to just let the bleach grow out and weaken but the constant conditioner is very inportant to get your hair back to normal . take care from trish

Sun in is about the worst thing you can put in your hair, it damages it so badly, and the damage is permanent.
My advice (from experience - I used it in my teens and ruined my hair too) is to get to a good hairdressers and get them to cut it to above the very damaged area and then put a good dye over the top.
When they did this to my hair the difference was amazing, it was a really rich, shiny, healthy brown colour.
If you want it lighter again, wait until the sun-in bit has grown out completely, then get the colour done in a salon, and ask for a colour with no bleach or peroxide

I did the same thing, luckily i only used one bottle over a few applications, for a quick fix. i then went to a salon for highlights after pay day, and they wouldnt touch my hair with a barge poll after i told them i had used Sun in. They said it was becasue the bleach they use, and many other hair dressers, reacts with Sun in, and my hair would snap. i went home in floods of tears and looking like a badger with terrible roots, my boyfriend found it highly funny which made things worse!! Apparently (not that you will ever use it, im sure) but Just for men has the same bad chemicals and can cause the same reaction, both products should be avoided. (& come with a warning label as the chemcials really are very harsh)
Anyway, there was a positive out come to my hair disaster...i went to two different salons, desperarte for a solution, and asked them to test my hair. they cut strands out where they would go unoticed, and put bleach on them. neither of their products reacted, and the tests were free. i chose the salon i trusted more, and they deep conditioned and high lighted my hair perfectly. it came out looking beautiful and glossy. this was some months ago, and I now have a whole head dye as it is easier, and havnt had any probems.
go speak to a salon and im sure they will be happy to help, but use a well respected and trustworthy one as you dont want them to say it was fine and can be sorted just to get your money. Granted i almost died when i went to pay for my hair treamtments after the sun in episode, it was not cheap...but most likely worth it.
hope this helps xx
