Just got my hair done, did the t zone with foils, popped some toner on it, washed it then dried it,snipped it, then tonged it, hey ho �62 plus tip total �64 and they say theres a credit crunch!!!

I've got really long hair, so it always costs me about �70 for a colour, trim, blowdry and straighten. Add about another �8 if i want a Kerastase treatment.

Boots had a 3 for 2 on hair colours a couple of weeks ago, so i bought some dye and have been meaning to do it but am just not looking forward to trying to get bright red dye out of the grout!

I'm very lucky as a friend of mine is a hairdresser.

She's done my hair for years now and is fantastic, usually have a cut, colour, highlights and blowdry and straighten for �30.00.

She's the only one I trust to do whatever she thinks with my hair and always does a great job and gives me ideas I'd never think to suggest or be brace enough to try.

She lives about an hour away from me on the train but it's worth it as get to have a great girly chat and catch up and drink lots of tea at the same time :)

There is always the chance to get it done for free for trainee hairdressers. I always do this at a top London salon. Individual trainees advertise for models on gumtree for example. (takes longer than usual but fabulous result)

i dye my hair at home and get it cut into a simple bob evry 8 to 10 weeks total including home dye kit 30 pounds bargin
