Packaged Bread
2 Answers
I've noticed over the last few months that supermarket bread that's made for them by British Bakeries etc is showing a difference in the ingredients list.
A while ago, there was a big fuss about them using bleached white flour in their bread, so they went out of their way to declare that the flour was "unbleached" on the packaging. Lately, all the white bread I've seen simply states it contains "white flour" with no mention of it being bleached or unbleached.
This type of bread is found in corner shops too and includes the Hovis white "Everday" range and Sunblest etc. The beread I'm using at the moment, a Morrisons "Best" loaf also declares it's made from "white flour".
What i want to know is are we back eating bleached flour in our bread or not?
