My hair is leaving the nest! HELP!!
15 Answers
I'm 21...and have begun saying sweet farewells to my once so shiney-gorgeous brunette hair. This happened from my bleaching moments in despair to be a bimbo after a break up from a pimp of a man. Now...the only thing i am breaking up with is my hair. It is snapping, it is dry, dull, not shiney and horrible. I realised how i'd ruined my hair just after looking through my pictures of the old me and I dunno what to do. I'm now thinking of saving for a hat in order to hide the bush of a do and to avoid birds flying into it thinking they've found a home. :( i dyed it brown, Ive had a snip snip at the hairdressers and might i add they contemplated using a lawn mower on the bush that was destroyed by my'qualified hairdressing friend' who clearly doesnt know a hairbrush from a toothbrush in relation to her IQ. While she struts her stuff with nice locks I am at my teather...What else can I do...HELP PLZZZZ!!! xx Im really gettin down about this as I used to have nice pretty hair.

Anyway, I assume that you've used more than one lot of bleach, for your own hair to've got into such a condition? One application shouldnt've made it go like that. If i were you, I'd go to a reputable hairdresser and let them deep-condition it for you, but if you could bear to do it, the best bet might be to have a very short style, to cut most of the damaged hair off. A dye could be applied professionally, to cover the remaining blonde, and then just have regular trims until your own hair can grow naturally again.
I will be lucky if it grows again...I think my hair has really had enough of me now!!!
Its short as it is and if I take anymore off people may think i'm doing a britney as ive just recently broke up with my man AGAIN! (bt thts another story) I got told to put lemon juice in it. I did...No change. I also ran around the house with tin foil covering my conditioned hair looking like i'd stepped off the mother ship...ppl in ma household thinks im nuts. I have dyed it bk brown. I do not disrespect blondes...just the ones who pretend they are qualified hairdressers and come at ya with a magnifying glass and a tea bag. Shes ruined my hair...The last hairdresser i was at could not believe tht someone 'professional' had done this to my hair...Could tell by the glint in their eyes they thought i'd taken some scissors, a hammer and some bleach to my own head,
Anyone recommend any good treatments??
xx

Obviously you didn't use a salon but had mobile. Lemon will dry your hair. Buy good conditioner from a salon - not the named brands on retail but the color-conditioner the salon use for clients - usually L'oriel. You will need lots so be prepared for the expense.
When you apply the treatment put a plastic carrier bag over your scalp (clipped tight) and sleep in it. Rinse off in the morning. Repeat daily till hair recovers.

Awww bless. The colour of a person's hair is irrelevant to whether ot not they understand hairdressing - or anything else. Having a "Britney" can actually look OK - look at Demi Moore when she shaved all her hair off! It wouldn't take long to grow back, especially if you have a short style anyway.
Best of luck.
Best of luck.
I had very dry hair in places where it had been over highlighted. Both I and my hairdresser tried everything, deep conditioning treatments, good conditioners etc, but nothing really worked. In the end she gave it a good cut and it seems to have done the trick. I think that whilst conditioners will help a bit, the only thing to do is to wait for it to grow out and have the ends snipped regularly. If your hair is that short, it will not take that long, so don't despair!
