I managed to leave a cotton ball with nail varnish remover on it on top of my laptop. It has marked the casing slightly. Any ideas how I might rectify this?

Oh dear....Unfortunately not, i spilt some on my pine dresser when i was younger and the mark is still there 12 years on,it took the varnish shine off a very small ptachand made it look slightly pinky grrrrr!At least you learnt your lesson eh....

You have probably dissolved part of the plastic case, or the paint. No solution to this I'm afraid.
