I dyed my hair for the first time a few weeks ago and ever since i have used the conditioner they give you to keep your colour as radiant as possible! but i prefer to use shampoo first before i use conditioner instead of just using conditioner on its own. is this ok?
because when i do i wash it like i always have and get all the shampoo and conditioner out, i definitely do but it still seems to go weird. like, when my hair dries it goes sort of bristly and kind of as if it's greasy but it's not proper grease.. it's like if you accidently were eating a yoghurt and you got your hair in it you know how it goes hard? it's like it.. kind of but not as much. i dont know. is the shampoo doing this?
going to the hairdressers next week so hopefully they will perform some miracle on my hair!
thanks.

Are you using a shampoo for coloured hair?
Well I might be misunderstanding your question but are you saynig you've only used a conditioner & no shampoo on your hair?
Just treat your hair as normal...shampoo, rinse & then condition & rinse that out too. You might want to use products for coloured hair but I'm not sure they make a deal of difference, how long your colour lasts depends on many things.
Use the conditioner at the coloring stage, after you've thoroughly rinsed out the residue of the dye. Then next time you wash, shampoo and condition as you normally would. Depending on your hair length and type, the conditioner supplied should last you six weeks or so until you re-dye.

I find I only need to used mine once a week or so, and I used a conditioning shampoo inbetween.

No im using a shampoo and conditioner.
Maybe i should use a shampoo for coloured hair, forgot about that!
Thanks everyone though!
definitely should use a coloured-hair shampoo, then conditioner. Conditioner on its own will make your hair sticky and not keep it clean.
Apart from very frequent washing (every day) the thing most likely to cause hair colour to fade quickly is the sun. So if you're outdoors in this lovely weather no amount of special shampoos will make a difference - unless you keep it covered.
