Hi poodi - well at primary school I think we were all good mixers, cannot remember any child being left out. When I moved to the grammar school I applied myself to all subjects to a good level (yes, really) excellent at sports (yes, really) and quite sociable (yes, really)! Never made out-of-school friends with other pupils as I had a very close and busy family way of life which fulfilled my time away from the seat of learning. Unlike yourself I never moved between schools. However, I would not consider myself as being popular - in fact I would never have considered the question without your post :o)
im glad i wasn't popular, the popular ones are always the ones that did fairly sh!t in exams etc... i have no sympathy when all they care about is looking good and cr@p like that, i like it the way it was for me, a few close friends to hang around with at breaks and lunch and have a laugh and then when it came to lessons etc... as much as i didn't want to be there, i still aimed to get GCSE's unlike some, who spent their whole school life gossiping etc. getting no GCSE's and then when leaving school, have no clue what to do!
I agree with you benny, and I have never seen a Head Boy or Girl that didn't have the most supercilious look on their face LOL.
That is a shame poodi - I always think children who have to move around and change schools are missing out quite a bit, especially on having any depth of friendship with school mates. I should imagine that is very important for single children. It is just well that education ends when it does and the real world allows us more choices of freedom and hopefully stability too
