I am going to the hairdressers tomorrow to have a light-brown coloured base applied with blonde foils. Will they apply this onto dry hair or will they wash it first? Thanks.

It will be applied to dry hair. Best to wash it tonight and not in the morning, as colour works better on hair that hasn't just been washed.

Dry hair.

My highlights are always put on dry hair.
I was told it's best to leave it unwashed for a few days.
dirty, dry hair is easier to manipulate than sqeaky clean hair where the foils could slip.

Thank you so much for all the great answers. I've had this done before (been so many different colours though, I forget what the procedure is - sometimes in the past they've given my hair a quick wash beforehand). I will give it a quick wash tonight. Thanks again for all the quick answers!

Thanks too pinkilady, I'll give the straighteners a wide birth for a while!
