Weave-in hair wig

A friend of mine has lost a third of her hair due to illness and it isn't going to grow back. The loss is mainly at the temples and although she has no bald spots it is thin all over. I seem to remember that it is possible to get half-wigs where you can pull your own hair through to 'anchor' it. I don't want to get her hopes up -her hair is too thin for clips or combs- so does anyone on here know what I'm talking about and where she could get one?

Extensions can be glued to the existing hair as below. Or they could be glued to a removeable nylon cap & worn like a wig.

tigerlelly, my sister suffers with trichotillomania.. she pulls her hair out. I appreciate this isn't the same as your friend, but the cover up options are much the same.

my sister had a spray which made her hair look thicker (it really was quite remarkable) and an options was a netting fabric that was (as you said) pulled through the existing hair with false hair attached. I think it was mega expensive but I remember seeing it on one of those Gok type make-overs (could have been 10 Years Younger).

hello tigerlelly just came across your post.... I sell wigs so i know what you mean, its called a 3/4 wig however if your friend has thin hair a 3/4 would not really be suitable as it has a comb on it to grip onto your hair.=, also it may not cover her temples.
Ask your friend to consider a full wig they really do look good these days but tell her to get the best she can afford as this will make a difference. The acrylic are great and will not need styling, it would be a good start, find a wig store near you and get her to try them on. You can also get fringes, and hair pieces and any good shop will give you good advice.
Human hair can be very expensive so make sure you really are a wig person before considering this, they will need styling too. I hope this helps
