Drug Possession
I am having an agrument with someone, who say that if I was driving along and pick a random someone up, and that passenger has drugs on them without me knowing, on the chance I get stopped by police for a random check, if the passenger chucks the drugs under the seat, or in the back seat before they pull me over, then I will get the full force of the law for having "possessed" the drugs, as they are in my car. Lets say theres £20,000 worth of heroin, your going to do a long time for that. I have told the person I'm talking to about this, that they are talking guff, and there is no way I would go to prison for something like this. Can anyone more knowledgeable clarify this?!

Me and my OH had been out clubbing and stupidly accepted a lift home from a friend of a friend who we knew was a bit dodgy but it was a whole lot easier than waiting for a taxi. Anyway we were nearly home when he got pulled over. The police got us all out of the car and then searched the car and lo and behold there was a stash of drugs in it. We all denied it was ours (obviously only we were telling the truth) but they arrested us all and we spent what was left of the night in a cell, great experience not! We both got interviewed but they hd nothing on us as we hadnt done anything so were free to go. The driver did get charged with possession and intent to supply.
