Broken blood vessel?

Last night I ... erm ... rather over indulged on the red wine, resulting on my delivering my dinner into the toilet bowl at bedtime. When I got up this morning I noticed a red patch around the outer corner of my eye, much like a strawberry birthmark in appearance. It has a sort of speckled rash surrounding it and there's a similar, smaller mark on my other eye. It's not sore or broken, apart from a tiny dry patch that's been there for some time anyway.

Could it be that the strain of the vomiting has caused a burst blood vessel or something? I should add the whites of my eyes are totally unaffected.

Nothing at all to worry about....as you have described it.......a small broken blood vessel.......a small capillary bleed under the skin.
It will settle without treatment.
