hi everyone, im going to try and explain this as best as i can and will apologise beforehand if i go on and on but need a bit of advice. Basically i had a bit of a funny turn in work earlier, out of the blue, that lasted for about a hour or so. I suddenly came over felling all week although i wasnt rushing around or anything, started stumbling my words, i tried to have a conversation with my boss and couldnt get the words out and was quite out of it. I was really forgetful and felt extremely sick and had a thumping head. I also had pins and needles in my gums and thumb. (I know sounds weird) lol. Has this happened to anyone, any suggestions to why this may of happened? Im generally pretty healthy, i eat well and exercise enough, i know im not pregant

I wonder if it could be a TIA (mini stroke) from what you describe, people have them at times and don't even know as they are very mild. Best get checked out at the docs as if it is that, it can happen again.
Apart from the pins and needles, I've felt like that when I've been a bit dehydrated.
it could be a migraine, but I really think it's worth a trip to the doctors.
i am not a doctor, but my advice is to seek medical advice asap,
could be down to lots of things, lotsafun, but I would get a check up, just to be on the safe side!................
Go to your doctor and tell him exactly what you've said here. He can arrange some tests, don't ignore symptoms like that.
off the top of my head, could be migraine, sudden drop in blood sugar, a stress reaction, mini stroke, extreme form of hot flush...go to the doc and get it checked...

i wouldnt have thought of anything like the above suggestions as im only 29, but will definatley go and get it checked out, i didnt want to come across as wasting the doctors time though as if i was just over reacting
Hi lotsa...something you describe certainly wouldn't be wasting the doctor's time, symptoms like that really need to be checked especially for your peace of mind. Best wishes for the visit I hope it goes well for you.
Does indeed sound like migraine,
No need to panic, just monitor the situation for a couple of weeks.

i did drink about 7 cups of proper coffee yesterday, would this have been a effect of it perhaps?
it could.. but you won't know for sure unless you get it checked out. from personal experience I'd have to say *don't* monitor it for a couple of weeks, go and see your doctor.
It could do, IMO - caffeine is a great stimulant - but it does sound like a form of migraine, definitely. Until my niece had stroke-like symptoms with hers (and she's the same age as you) I had no idea migraine could cause such physical effects. Hopefully your employer realised you were ill? - so you could take time out to go to the docs today? - it's worth going, you might be able to be prescribed something to take if you feel it coming on again, to stop it escalating. I'd go to the docs if I were you, just for your own peace of mind.

i always thought that migraine was a excrutiating headache so im suprised there are many other symptoms. Not to sound over dramatic and i can have a bit of a giggle over it this morning i suppose but i did say to my partner last night that i though i was having a stroke or something, it was a totally bizarre feeling. Im booked into the docs for next week now just to have a bit of a MOT if anything now. thanks for all your suggestions
