Severe back pain and can't take any more pills for 12 hours - what now?

My back went out again yesterday for the third time in as many weeks. I have an appointment with an osteopath tomorrow. In the meantime I had my dose of diclofenac sodium (v. strong anti-inflammatory)before going to bed and enough Nurofen so that I'm not supposed to take anymore for 12 hours. Panadol and Paracetamol do nothing to help and I am tempted to take more Nurofen but I've been on them off and on for 3 weeks already. What else is there? I can only get relief from the pain by standing in the kitchen and resting my elbows on the worktop.
Thanks.

Hello Quassia,
Thanks for asking, I am a lot better since my visit to the osteopath this morning. He really is a magician! I have been well and truly clunked and clicked and I am a lot more mobile. I have another session on Thursday afternoon and that should do it he thinks......until the next time!
Great stuff! You sound much more upbeat tiger !
