revision hip replacement
7 Answers
I had a metal on metal total hip relacement 3 years ago. I am one of the unlucky ones who had a major reaction to the chrome and cobalt in the hip replacement I had a revision hip replacement 2 years ago but my orthopaedic consultant is suggesting I have it revised again because of all the pain I am still in, my expierence in the NHS hospital has put me off even contemplating going back to the NHS I still have nightmares thinking about my care at that time, does anyone know the cost of going private?

Before going privately, would you please let me know what area you are in.

LOL...sorry carlyon....I don't know the Cornwall set up.
This maybe and almost certainly is,no help to you, but if I were in your situation, I would go, wherever i lived to the John Charnley Unit for Hip Surgery near Wigan Lancashire and see Tim Board,.......his secretaries number is 01257 256290.
I know it is at the wrong end of the country for you....but you have a poor history in terms of success and the next move MUST be the correct one.
