Is it true that you only start to burn fat after 30 minutes of rigorous exercise? My current twice weekly gym session consist of 30 minutes of cardio followed by light weights. Does this mean that my attempts to burn fat are futile at this rate?
I am trying to lose a stone and have completely cut out all crisps, chocolate, cake and alcohol but I still have the occasional curry. Is this okay?
Exercise doesn't lose much weight but will make you slimmer because muscle is much denser than fat and so takes up less space. Your heart and lungs will be much healthier with the cardio. Cutting out all you have will drop the weight.
In my experience more exercise didn't demonstrate a significant weight loss for me. I put it down to the ease of eating caloroes yet the slow rate one can burn them off.
I started going twice a week to the gym but was annoyed that the result was slow weight loss so I upped it to three times a week along with swapping white bread/pasta to wholemeal and since then I have lost about two stone.
Try kettlecise.. I do it twice a week and it burns around 500-1000 calories per hour session depending on how hard you work. I also go to the gym twice a week, and go out on the bike when the gym is closed... In the past 2 weeks i have lost 10lbs!
