Rant follows

Not a question just a screaming rant.
Last week a fault developed with the car. It was in the garage anyway for the shocks to be replaced and some other mechanical stuff which was due to happen today. But the garage couldn't deal with this issue which the OH thought was the self levelling system. So on Wed he took it to the main dealer to be diagnosed on the basis that if that was a problem we would have time to have it repaired (a contact could have couriered the part overnight) before the weekend. This in itself was a comedy of errors which i won't describe in full but part of the conversation went
garage: Your car doesn't have a self levelling system
OH: yes it does, it was fitted as standard to that model and I've been under there and seen it. Tell your technician to look for.......
10 minutes later
garage: we've found the self levelling system (DOH!!!!).
Anyway, said self levelling system was given a clean bill of health by main dealer. Just had a call from the garage who was dealing with the mechanical stuff to say the SLS is buggered!!!!!
Now, where am I going to get a car part and fixed at 4.15 on a Friday afternoon before the Bank Holiday?! And how exactly do I tell my little step son that we are not now going on holiday?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You want to see the letter I have just written to head office. Talk about blistering............

Shows how much I know. If a garage told me I had a self levelling system on the car and it needed repairing I'd be convinced they were trying to pull the wool over my eyes. All the cars I've owned were fairly level anyway, well apart from the one which turned out to have the wrong sized wheel on one of the corners.
I think we will have to hire one Chuck - it will have to have a DVD in the back though to keep step son happy (autism and long journeys don't go very well together). Trouble is, it will mean the OH will have to do all the driving because now I can't find my effing driving licence.
Thanks ummm that's very sweet, but I think we are going to have to hire one.
Alba, imps is not the word I used. OH has had to tone the letter down a bit because I was a tad rude - using the term "strategically shaven monkey" was probably not all that constructive.
Tbh, we probably weren't going to get away until Sunday (til the following Friday) and the weather is Sugar too.
And the worst of it? OH has had to up his pills and can no longer drink, so I have stopped drinking altogether in support.............
