Good Morning,
has anyone experience with extreme leg pains all the way up to the hip? Maybe I should mention that I have had leg pains for many years, due to slipped disk, RLS, Fibromyalgia, Var.Veins etc., etc., but this spell is so bad (only left leg), that I can hardly move since last night, forget about sleep.
By the way, I took a strong painkiller a couple hours ago - nothing happend.
Thank you for any idea.
Sorry about the subject on this second Advent Sunday.
I do wish you all an especially nice day.

Don't apologise for being in pain, chasonette!

I am sure that sqad will advise clinically, but it may be that painkillers are not enough, you need an anti-inflammatory drug too?
How old are you?
What medication are you on?
Is the leg white or is the leg swollen?
Morning boxy my love.
Could it be sciatica? or maybe arthritis in your actual hip joint? Maybe you slept on it at a strange angle. Have you tried gently exercising or massaging it? A hot water bottle may bring you some relief.

Thank you all.
Squad, I checked, it is not swollen or red. I am 63. The painkiller is a once-in-24-hours-pill, called "Katadolon S long" (Flupirtinmaleat).
Otherwise - Blood Pressure and Diabetes Med.
Chasonette..........you didn't answer my question fully..IS THE LEG WHITE?

Anyway thanks for your reply, but i will withhold my opinion until you answer the above question.

In what country do you reside?
Question Author
Sorry, Squad, I misunderstood. It is not white, just the regular colour, like the right one. I am in Germany. Thank you for your time.
OK.......well to sum up:

You are a known diabetic and hypertensive with a sudden onset of a painful leg.

I would suggest that you take Ibuprofen 400mgms up to every 6 hours....BUT..if the pain doesn't improve or your leg changes colour in the next 24 hours then seek medical advice from a doctor.

Many thanks again, Squad.
A pleasure.
Squad,

I am sorry if this sounds a bit picky, but do you not think that when you suggest someone takes 'Brufen you should also mention that it is very important that, to avoid damage to the stomach , it is taken with food? Having been taking Brufen regularly, until recently, since 1988 it has always been impressed on me how important it is.
