temporomandibular joint disorder

hi has any one else got temporomandibular joint disorder?i was chewing some choc eclairs(chewwy ones) and i heard something pop on my jaw,since then i have had pain in my jaw,around my ear and down my neck.the doc doesnt know if it is that so who will know?how do you get it diagnosed and what is the treatment?thanks

I went to the hospital about this a few weeks ago. They weren't very good.. All they did was give me an x-ray and said "It's probably TMJ"... She sent me back to my dentist who is going to make me a splint.

You could eventually end up being referred to a TMD clinic at a dental hospital but, as this page shows the team there might expect that you'll have been referred elsewhere first (to eliminate other possible causes of your problem):
