I still get hot flushes and I am 84. I think your body gets used to it and still goes on doing whatever it is for years after it needs to. I have asked the doctor about it and she has said lots of people get it, so maybe you will still get period symptoms too. Best to make sure and ask your doctor.
I thought I'd seen the back of that but I got an extra Christmas pressie, I had no symptoms at all just "turned" up and I have really suffered with period pain all my days! I'm way too old for all this caper, all I can say I wish it would just go and never bother me again!

Yeh, menopaused at 42 and now 17 years later still have occasional 'period' pain and hot flushes (I take sage capsules for these - very good). I was on HRT for years which really helped.
I must be really lucky after 'surgical menopause' aged 40 two years of hot flushes, sweats and fatigue then nothing... apart from moles that sprout hair that seems to have migrated from my girly bits, and I don't get hair under my arms either No mood swings (I'm evil all the time) no flushes and usually loads of energy. kid sister however has been through hell for the last 6 years with no sign of a let up and 79 year old mother still has sweats and flushes 39 years after her op
