I woke up with a painful ankle this Tuesday felt like id got cramp in it or banged it (which i havent) found it hard to walk on it wed/thurs and then today i looked at it and its slightly swollen painful to touch and red. I also have a MASSIVE swelling and bruising on my other leg on my thigh! Again i havent banged it! Drs have no appointments now till tuesday. i can move my ankle and walk on it, its just painful. Any ideas what these random swellings and pains/bruises are?

no lol sound sleeper x
I am assuming that you have no ongoing medical condition and that you are not taking any medications.

There are many things that this could be but none life threatening, I am glad to say. The diagnosis will be sorted out by blood investigation rather than clinical examination.

For the pain, i would suggest Ibuprofen 400mgms as and when required and monitor the situation over the next 48 hours and keep us informed.

Ive used some of that ibrupopen gel and its made it feel slightly better but im still struggling to walk on it and its very bad pain could it just be a sprain? Thigh is still very swollen and so sore :(

oh and i take no medication no but i have a job where im on my feet 11 hours a day? and ive just had rapid weight loss
I am not a passionate believer in gels.....I would prefer the mediation by mouth.

Extremely unlikely that your ankle problem is a sprain, more likely an acute arthritic problem.

As I have mentioned, the answers will be given by the results of blood tests.
