In a a child......I would ignore it.

In an adult i would get a surgical opinion.

I know! I know!....the difficulty that i have on this site is when answering the posters is to give the "correct" advice or the advice that i would follow for myself..........often quite different and opposite.....LOL

I had an abdominal hernia for approx 2 years but did nothing about it as it caused me no trouble at all. It started to be a little painful & I went to the docs, he tried to manipulate it to make it go back in a little bit & within 2 days I was rushed into hospital to have an emergency op as the hernia had become strangulated. The op was fine, just had to take things easy & not drive for several weeks. That was over 2 years ago, I wish I'd gone to see about it sooner. My advice- get it sorted soon. Good luck.

Mr mac has had an incisional hernia for nearly 5 years and the docs have no intention of doing anything with it.
