Yellow whites of the eyes in Asia?
I was recently travelling the south-east of Asia (Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia), and noticed that a lot of people have a yellow tinge to the whites of the eyes (the cornea/sclera/whatever you call it). Is there a particular reason for this? Is it cataracts, jaundice or anything like that - or it is merely something to do with a lack of nutrition, or pollution etc? Thanks a lot.
