red spots
8 Answers
I am a female aged 54 and am covered in bright red spots, which have developed over the last two weeks. The spots are over most of my body, but are not blistered, just warm to the touch, bumpy and a little itchy, with dry skin. They have developed gradually, are about the size of a pea, although the size varies and they started on my knees. The palms of my hands are peeling slightly. I do not feel as if I have a temperature, but feel a little tired and am eating normally. I took Clarityn for 5 days in case I was allergic to something, but there was no difference.
Am trying to get a Doctor's appointment, but there do not appear to be any vacancies, whenever I 'phone, which is really frustrating.

I 'phoned the surgery later in the day to see if there were any cancellations and was told I could make an appointment for a week's time.
I have had no emotional upset recently, am taking no medication, apart from cod liver oil capsules for joint pain (arthritis) and have no underlying disease.

bazzard........thanks for the feedback.
It certainly sounds like a rash that one associates with an anxiety state, even though you do not feel anxious or indeed any reason to be anxious. It will settle down in about 10 days, but may reoccur and usually responds well to beta blockers which of course you can only get on your doctors prescription.
I look forward to any fedback.

Got to see a Doctor yesterday. Have been given 2 large tubes of steroid cream & a large tub of emulsifying fat, as the diagnosis is for eczema. Some of the spots have joined together to form a rash, while the other spots are spreading covering most of my body. The 'older spots' are a lighter pink than they were. Have been told to go back in three weeks time.
