Omega 3 particularly is supposed to reduce the risk of stroke and heart attacks.......the jury is still out on this one.
Fish oils and arthritis..........again no definite studies to indicate benefit or not.
I don't take them......but id you feel that the evidence has convinced you then go ahead.
beneficial effects, if any will be long term.

I do I take 3 x 1000mg a day.
I first started when I was told that it helped control Cholesterol, at the same time I had got quite bad pains in my knees, sort of creaking when ent them, if that makes sense.
Short story cholesterol is brilliant, knee pain went whithin a few weeks and hasn't returned since.
If anyone was to say, it could all be diet and a strain in my knees, I couldn't say they were wrong, but i'm not stopping.
I also eat mackerel and pilchards.

Up until about a year ago-I took both glucosamine and a low dosage Omega 3 tablet. I found with the glucosamine, that if I stopped for more than a week-joint pain would return.
I'd been eating quite a bit of oily fish also-but my intake has gone down in recent months.
Meanwhile-the joint discomfort seems to be increasing...
