My dog has started to lift his head and roll his eyes upwards.
He appears to be looking for a fly or a light on the ceiling ( which isnt there).
This only lasts for a few seconds, but is happening several times a day.
He did have dirty ears, problem now sorted and the vet has given me some eye drops, because he has mild conjunctivitus and asks me to go back in 2 weeks.
I am not sure this is the problem at all, I just FEEL it is something sinister, although I am very paranoid when it comes to my dogs and I am the first to admit this, but this problem just does not feel right.
He appears to be fit and healthy in other ways.
Does anyone have similar experiences? what was the reason/cause and has it now gone?
Many thanks for any help and advise.

To get an official BVA eye certificate the dog has to be KC Reg and identified by microchip or tattoo, but if he isn't they will still do the test and tell you the result but not give you a certificate.

That can be an early indication of a vestibular syndrome attack about to come on. My old wolfhound cross did that for about a week before his first fullblown attack- which was a really significant one. I really thought initially he'd had a stroke. Thankfully he hadn't, it was just a vestibular attack, but the symptoms are identical and sometimes without a scan even vets struggle to differentiate the two, so take him back, I bet this is ear related as my old fella had ear issues before as well.

Many thanks for your help, this sounds like a probability, he has always had ear problems, and as a pup had a massive ear mite problem.
I have always stated to vet that I am not too sure about his hearing ability also
I really do believe that this ear mite problem has caused his hearing difficulties.
Again many thanks

Could be floaters he is seeing on the surface of the eye. Why not get him eye tested by a specialist - let me know which area you are in and I can let you know if there is an eye testing session in your area, or your vet would refer you but that way is far more expensive. An eye test at a show or special session is round £30.
Many thanks to everyone that has offered help and advise.
I took my precious boy back to vet who gave a further exam and declared he had an ear infection, we are now giving antibiotics and things are improving.
I am so very grateful to you all for the time and effort afforded to me and my boy.
Just one last thing, please people trust your instincts with your pets, and keep pestering your vet if need be, I knew that my boys had a more serious problem than conjuntivitus.
