FAO Sqad Fatty Liver Part 2
1 Answers
Hi Sqad,
Remember I asked you about my Mum`s fatty liver? We haven`t got the definitive results from the GP yet but I`ve just taken her for the ultrasound scan. The radiographer said that as far as she could see there was very little fat there. I think it`s early days as far as fat accumulation is concerned as the doctor only picked up on it a few months ago (and didn`t take it any further). The latest doctor she saw is obviously more thorough. Her cholesterol is 8 (I don`t know the breakdown of HDL and LDL but I will go with her to the GP and ask). She doesn`t want to go on statins so she wants to ask if she can have 3 months to get the levels down via lifestyle changes and then get re-tested to see if it`s worked.
I must say I was very impressed with West Middlesex Hospital. We didn`t have to wait (in fact they were 15 minutes early), the staff were professional and smart in appearance and the place was spotless.

What a sensible mum.
I will be interested in the HDL and LDL when you see your GP.
