Niggling health issues and are they connected?...
7 Answers
I have a few minor health issues which I have been thinking I should have a trip to my GP about but they all feel a bit trivial but are all bothering me and I'm wondering if any are connected in anyway and thought i would seek advice on here first.
For quite a while now I've noticed my feet are always cold even in the summer...which in turn makes me feel cold and uncomfortable and seem to have central heating/car heater/portable electric heater on most of the time.
My hair is always dry and brittle and my nails are very weak and i only have to knock them and they break.
I suffer from little patches of eczema that i've had for ages which get better sometimes but never completely disappear. i used to get eczema in new areas but that hasn't happened for ages now thankfully but i seem to be stuck with these areas of skin that have never returned to normal.
Lastly i have a recurring eye problem that i have seen my docs about numerous times over the yrs and an opthamologist but never got to the bottom of. i have eye redness that occurs in either eye with no discharge or itching and it doesn't affect my eyelids but the white of the eye becomes very red. sometimes there is no soreness ,other times it feels uncomfortable and sore on the eye and inside my eye socket. i've been told it was either an infection,an allergy or blephritis on different occasions. I'm very careful about what products i use due to the eczema and the eye problems in case it's allergy and i clean eyelashes with baby shampoo as recommended by my doctor but i have still had two flare ups recently.
i'm sorry for the long post. i'm 40 yrs old and feel like if I were a car I'd fail an MOT miserably right now. :O( any advice gratefully received.

The muscle aches particularly, if i am feeling under the weather in any way my muscles(especially my legs) ache something terrible.
the link says you can have the symptoms for yrs..how long could this be as one or two of these things such as the eczema have been a problem for me over 10 yrs but the cold feet problem has just been about 18 months.
I will make an appointment on my day off next week to see my gp . i would be relieved to know if there is a cause for all these things.
If it turns out to be a thyroid problem i presume i will need levothyroxine and then would these health problems clear up or would it or would it just stop them getting worse?....

Thanks again everyone.
I managed to get to the doctor's today .The doctor was very nice and listened carefully to what was troubling me and has booked me in for a blood test to check for thyroid problems and a few other things so I should know in a week or two if anything is wrong.
He also gave me a prescription for cream and tablets to try and clear up my eczema and what i suspected and he confirmed was mild roseacea on my face.
