It's always wise to go to A & E to get it checked out. You are not wasting anyone's time, that is what they are there for. I would go sooner rather than later or A & E will get busy!
It is often difficult to diagnose whether a sprain or a fracture, so I would agree that you ought to go to A&E for xray. Dependant on result, the treatment for a sprain is Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation. Hope everything is okay.
I hope you put it in the accident book at work, condor - you should have...
"The side of your foot?" which side? Inside or outside?
Did you slip and twist the foot
s there any swelling or bruising?
Sounds like when I tore the tendons in my ankle. I walked on it for a few hours after the accident then was in agony with a very swollen ankle and bruising up most of my calf. I ended up with the ankle strapped and on crutches for 3 weeks with absolutely no weight bearing allowed.
