What is the best exercise to cover 4 miles in?

If I was to cover 4 miles on a daily basis what would be the best exercise to cover it in? Time is not a factor so would be the best option be; a brisk walk, jogging, running or cycling or are there any other options?

Walking, jogging or running will be better long term because they are load bearing activities. You will derive a greater benefit from load bearing activity, assuming your joints are up to it, than you would from cycling, rowing or swimming.
Varying how you take your exercise is a good idea though so mixing up cycling and walking/ jogging would be more...

Thank you both for your quick replys. Swimming unfortunately isn't an option, as it needs to be overland. I've been walking briskly what I think is around 3 miles a day for 5 weeks. It takes me 45 - 50 mins, there is a steep hill (uphill first, then downhill) at the end and once I've completed it I am breathing heavily and begining to sweat. Hopefully that gives you some idea of my fitness level. I feel fitter than I was when I started and want to go a little further now. So looks like cycling or a brisk walk. Suppose I could alternate.
