Thank you for your answer in my hip problem post. Saying that intermittent claudication (sp) should be eliminated prepared me and stopped me waffling.

It was his first thought when I described the symptoms. He would have liked an urgent appointment but can't do that until he sees the blood test results in about two weeks. I have a routine appointment with a vascular surgeon.

My symptoms seem severe especially as my legs are now cramping for no reason and I am coming to a standstill in dangerous places but visually my legs don't fit the diagnosis though the pulses were not great when he felt them. I can't recall what he said my legs should look like.

He explained the treatment if it is confirmed, which I prefer to the wait and see
answer often given. Also,I can it seems, push other arteries into taking over from damaged ones by walking through the pains which is what I have been doing til last week.

And my hips seem perfect! Haven't heard that in a long time. :-)

So... looking not too bad and thank you for helping. xx

Afternoon DT - I know - I have kept the shares up of Saxo Salt for gargling and parrots eat them all for the pain......I think its a virus, have heard of a few other people with same.

Any remedies, would be greatly received {:O))

just be careful it isn't strep throat, Den....use to be associated with scarlet fever.....easy to cure, just antibiotics......I would get to the quack.

No, DT the Doc never diagnosed it - I did ! - he just pointed his torch at my throat (about 4 feet away) and said 'you haven't got any tonsils', just gargle. I googled and came up with throat virus. I was gonna take a photo of my throat and let Sqad have a look, but he may have thought I was making a pass at him.....hahaha {:o))

they usually take a swab and have a wee look at that.

I've had and the throat becomes very uncomfortable.

My daughter when 6 or 7 had scarlet fever and my ex and I could have almost died on the spot - "oh don't worry 48 hours off school, antibiotics and she'll be as right as rain." The strep bacteria is the same apparently.

Morning Sqad. Vascular appointment has come through for eleven weeks time.
A reasonable wait for this?

Not trying to pre-empt sqad (I value my dangly bits too much) - but I'd say 'it depends on the bloods' . Your GP should be able to get you an urgent appointment if there is any pressing need, otherwise 11 weeks is inside the current NHS target times.

Thank you Dave. I'm not a good waiter. I like to do things quickly....getting too old to hang about.
I guess I can make a private appointment after the blood results. x

11weeks is nearly three months........and my opinion is that although it is not a life threatening disorder, the wait for me would be unacceptable.

If you can afford to go private....then do so.

If you can't....then problem solved.

Me? I wouldn't wait 3 months for ANY medical necessity.

Hi Sqad.....you're sounding chirpy today. I have an appointment with the vascular guy for Wednesday having been given one with a urologist by mistake. Why do I know this won't be straightforward. :-)

All bloods are normal except cholesterol which is 7. Not awful on it's own but perhaps with other problems statins should be considered but I'll cross that bridge next week. x

That cholesterol reading is not the be all and end all.

Mrs sqad has been in the UK shopping for a couple of days...her flight is now 4 hours delayed..LOL....so she wil be in a bad mood.

My advice to sqad is go AWOL until tomorrow she will have calmed down by then. !
