I have had Rheumatoid Arthritis since 1989.
Just lately my hands have been more painful than usual.
Yesterday I received a copy of a letter sent from my Specialist nurse to my GP.
In the letter she mentions 17 tender along with 17 swollen joints in my hands.
Global disease 70/100 and pain score 83 out of 100.
Today I have woken with my left hand being really painful and noticed on the back of my left had some swelling just above the wrist which I've seen before on my other hand, but there is a little lump above that which I have never seen before and wondered what that could be. It's a soft lump not hard.
Any ideas?

Clever you ChillDoubt that's exactly what it looks like.
I've seen a few in my time missprim, even got one of my own!
Should have added, if it continues causing problems consult your GP.
Often removed under surgery, usually under local anaesthetic, take roughly 10 minutes.
Agree with the others. Sounds like a ganglion to me.
If it's a ganglion hit it hard with a book and it'll disappear (that's what Doc Martin did)
Old wives tale is to whack it with the family bible haha ..........
Seriously I had one years ago and I did hit it hard and it went as quick as it came. Think its gas which disperses when knocked - but could be wrong!
Snap craft :)

Have read the link you have put on and not keen on the surgical treatment so, where did I put that bible!
Have an appointment with the hand specialist at the end of this month anyway but was just curious to know now.
Best answer for you ChillDoubt :-)
