i'm not sure you could
i am not either, seeing as this is a major operation, and wonder if private hospitals are equipped for it.
sqad would perhaps know, if he looks in...
This would depend upon if you had had your angiograms and consultation before your admission.

If that is the case, then phone the private hospital that you have in mind and ask for a quotation.

You will be looking at about £25,000 including nursing, surgeons fees, physiotherapy and hotel fees.
bednobs/em.......yes..many private hospitals are equipped to deal with cardiac surgery.
i was in one some years ago, and their facilities for surgery were next to nothing... Doctors on call were rare, it's one of the reasons i wouldn't go back, perhaps they have changed a lot since then
Still the case in my experience em10, that's why whenever a surgeon or doctor requires surgery, not one of them has it performed up the road in the Golden Nugget(our nickname for the local private hospital), they always have it done at the NHS hospital.
Make of that what you will.
that is what i would say as well, if it's urgent surely the NHS, for all it's faults, is one's best bet.

mmmmm! that is not my experience. Many cardiac procedures in which the NHS waiting list is long, are "farmed out" to private hospitals equipped for cardiac surgery and other surgical procedures.
I don't doubt it Sqad(we don't perform cardiac surgery where I work) but any doctor requiring anything from a circumcision to a FESS to a bowel resection at our place always uses the NHS hospital, never the private one.

Some years back one consultant gained a place in history at ours for being the only person ever to be given a PCA for his minor haemorrhoidectomy!
Chill...LOL.
Check if your NHS hospital has a private wing The QE in Birmingham does best of both worlds they should be able to quote for it
