Not Sure If It's A Cold Sore........
5 Answers
i have a lot of soreness on the corner of my mouth, I quite often get little cracks there which heal up on their own - it seems much worse this time, and it tingles - I wondered if it might be a cold sore? I've never had one before, and feel rather run down and not well at present - is it ok to put a cold sore ointment on it (my OH has Zorivax?) or would it not do it any good if it is not a cold sore? Thanks.

I also often get cracked corners of my lips in the cold weather, every so often these can get slightly infected and are very sore and look quite a bit like cold sores. I pop a bit of steroid cream on and this always sort the problem out in a couple of days. You can get some over the counter at your pharmacist.
So it might not be a cold sore, that said a drop of Zorivax won't do any harm so probably best to give it a go first - hope it clears up nicely for you

I sometimes suffer with this. I mentioned it to my GP who said it is a vitamin B deficiency and to take a vitamin supplement for a month. I'm not so sure that this worked though. The steroid cream as iggyb suggested usually does the trick after a few days. I use E45 hydrocortisone 1% which you can buy over the counter. Hope it clears up.
