\\\or do I wander down to Beachy Head and fling myself off....?\\\

That is bloody dangerous.

The do indeed sound like aphthous ulcers.......annoying, painful and often difficult to treat. The medication that your doctor has prescribed is the standard treatment and 3 weeks seems a long time to suffer.

The cause of aphthous ulcers is unknown.

I am not sure what you expect from your dentist, but I am sure he/she will not "fob you off.

Just an afterthought......you haven't developed any ulcers elsewhere, have you? Vagina or around your genital region?

Keep me informed as to the opinion of your dentist.
of you land in the sea from ur jump ur mouth ulcers will heal BUT try this shortcut, gargle with salt water

Yes, as i mentioned these aphthous ulcers are painful.....Difflam mouth was can be soothing and can be bought over the counter.
morning sqad....my dentist always advises salt water rinse for.....everything !
Hi Hippy
I answered a similar question some time ago. I used to suffer badly with mouth ulcers and I read in a magazine that a course of Vitamin B complex would be of great help. I tried this for 3 months and since then ( 10+ years ago) I haven't had a single ulcer. These tablets can be bought over the counter in most chemists and health food stores - I got mine from Holland and Barrett. Hope this is of some help. What do you think sqad ?

Ouch, you poor thing. Am assuming you've tried salt water. x
fbg40....yepp! certainly worth a try and there has been scientific papers from reputable units that have supported your claim.

Some suggest B12 is the important factor, others suggest it is the other group of B vitamins.

Worth a try.
Out of curiosity Hippy, have you recently given up smoking?
