I think I am suffering from IBS. I am not sure whether I should go to the doctors about this as I've read there is no cure for this.
I have abdominal cramps, excessive flatulance which smells terrible (sorry if it;s too much info, but it's true), suffer from bouts of diarreha and sometimes constipation, bloating and feeling like I still need to pass a stool after going to the toilet.
I hate going to the doctors and not sure they'd be able to offer any help.
Does anyone suffer from IBS on here and what did your doctor say/do?

You'll see that, while doctors might not be able to cure the condition, they can certainly make it a great deal easier to live with. (Further, they can advise on the best dietary changes for you).

Do go to the doctor, you need a proper diagnosis - either to confirm it or to rule it out. IBS runs in OH's family (no pun intended) and it can certainly be controlled (if not cured) with medication and careful diet. Self-diagnosis of something like that is not the sensible option. Don't be embarrassed about it - the GP is used to this sort of problem.
Hi all, Thanks for the answers.
I went to the Dr's yesterday and he said it sounds like IBS. His advised me to get a blood test done incase it is coliec diesase.
He didn't give me any advise on what foods to/not to eat though.
He did prescribed Merbeverine 135mg and I am also taking Buscopan which has eased it today...thank goodness for that! ;-))
