We bought my son a suit for a wedding in May in the January sales, now it seems the legs are too short as are all his trousers and jeans - he's 17 and now 6'2"

Should slow down now...by about 19 in my experience ...
18 -19 my gp says. I sympathise, my 17 yo is now just shy 6'4" and I'm hoping he stops growing soon. Costing me a fortune in clothes and shoes every 5 minutes, nit to mention how much he eats!

Oh tell me about eating! I'd rather keep them a week rather than a fortnight as my gran would say. His elder brother is 19 and 6' 7
My youngest hit 6ft at 15... lucky he wears shorts all year. The average age is 19/20. They do tend to slow down around 17/18. (fingers crossed as my youngest is just 16).

Blimey! Glad I've just got the one!
I found it easier to rent a suit when needed, even if it fits on the day it won't fit again. I'd welcome any tips on where to shop though, I find it quite difficult finding reasonably priced clothes for him.
my brother didn't stop growing till he was in his twenties, he seemed quite small and rather puny, then wham... 6, 1

George at Asda are good for top and tees and underwear, they go up to XXXL 2 white tee shirts, £5 I mean you can't moan at that! Premier man for every day trousers, premierman.com and bigtallorder.com
Em - my uncle was really weedy until he joined the army and went from 5"8 to 6"2 in a year and has stretch marks!!

My kids are quite small but my youngest, on a few occasions, has grown out of new shoes within a month or so.
Do you have matalan ? Quite good for inexpensive clothes for teens ...also primark and George....
We went on holiday one summer and my son's shoes were a size 5, the following summer he was a size 8. As for height, he was still growing in his first year a uni at the age of 19. By 20 he stopped at 6'5" and size 11 shoes.

Son 1 is in a 12 son 2 is in an 11. Gawd I hope their feet don't grow anymore!
according to my wife of forty years my belly is still growing
My son is 14 and a size 9.
Well I certainly hadn't stopped growing when I was 17, I know this for a fact as I still have the leather jacket I was wearing then.
Which doesn't fit anymore.
MM thanks but Primark etc don't do clothes big enough for him.

Thanks for the tips spikey

yep my sons in size 12's too.
I stopped growing at 5'4" when I was 17. Both my parents were short. You have to look at family members. If necessary there are drugs than can curtail growth. Docs used to prescribe growth hormone for undersized children but I recall many of them died young in their 30s.
none of our family are what you consider tall. so it doesn't always work out, unless of course it's generations before, family you never knew.
my daughter was 6ft at junior school my son was average height until 12 then shot up to 6ft 4in by the time he was 15 thank goodness he stopped then
My niece is 14 and a size 9. Poor girl.
