Can any of you expert fitness people work out an approximate equivalent for those rainy days when I would rather not do my usual walk?
I walk around a local loch which is approximately two miles.....At home we have a fourteen tread staircase.....How many trips would equal these two miles please ( taking into account the extra effort with stairs)?

Thanking you in advance as usual.....

If your stride is 1 yard that means 2 miles takes 3520 strides. If you consider each step the equivalent of 1 yard and it'll be easier going up than down so let's say it balances out you need to go up the stairs 125 times and down 125 times.
Quite honestly I'd put a waterproof on and do your 2 miles. :-)
I meant 'each step the equivalent of one stride'
