Is root-canal treatment is dangerous for our teeth?

I really got scared because I don't wanna loose my tooth. :( Please give me positive reply.

A reputable dentist is hardly likely to do work on your teeth if it isn't necessary. They're in the business of saving teeth - not destroying them.

Surely if a root canal treatment was deemed necessary by your dentist and you didn't have it done, you would in time lose the tooth anyway.

If your dentist recommends a root canal, it's because your nerve has died in your tooth. It's quite a lengthy process - the tooth canal needs drilling out so that all of the nerve can be removed and filled, to prevent infection.
If you don't get it done, you'll prob lose your tooth anyway - it's a no-brainer.
As with any medical process, there are risks involved, but the benefits far outweigh the risks.

Karl, Yes, I'm sure. I've had root canal treatment and my teeth are fine, so stop worrying and get it done.

To be blunt, grit your teeth and face it. You'll be fine. You are working yourself up over nothing.

To be honest, when I had it done a few years ago, It was quite painful, although I have heard that that the pain-control used nowadays is much improved, gook luck.

Had it done recently and pain was minimal. Just needed a couple of top ups of local anaesthetic during the process when it twinged a bit.

As others have said, it's going to be the best option. Pricey though. In my case I thought I was going for a normal filling, then he found something he hadn't noticed the last time and I ended up having it done without much prior warning. Probably better that way, no time to worry about it, but a disappointment at the time. I now suspect others will go the same way as they reason for their occassinoal twinge is finally uncovered. Not happy about it, but that's what happens as one ages. To repeat it's going to be better than the alternatives of leaving it, or removal.

I've had my two front teeth done, its more dangerous to your wallet!

As said, not really painful, just an uncoomfortable experience (noise, smell, fiddling around etc). And no reputable dentist would do this if it wasn't necessary.
