Split Nostril

Did a really stupid thing, turned round very quickly and clobbered the front and side of my nose extremely hard on the point of my car door. It looks as though the actual nostril edge is split and there's a deep gash running up the side of my nose. Can't see what's happened inside of course. Lots of blood mostly stopped now though . I've put streri strips on as best I can to keep the edges together cos I figured that would be all a medic would do. Any thoughts and/or further advice welcomed. Thank you.

society - now the oracle has given his (much valued) opinion I'm now going to succumb to the pain and have a glass of wine - it is indeed painful.

If you have any worries or concerns, go to A&E, but not much fun on a Saturday night.

Thanks Alba - to be honest my friend did say she thought it needed stitching but I can't see how - the steri strips seem to be doing a great job and in the absence of the Ibruprofen option being recommended for the pain, I'm happy to take the wine route. Agree, A&E at any time is to be avoided if poss, but a Saturday..........I think not. Thanks for the concern.

I left a sliced 'webbing' between the fingers for 24 hours once.
When I went to A&E the following day, they said that if I'd turned up when it happened, they'd have stitched it. Ho-hum.

Wine route is best :-D

Well I sometimes wonder how people survived ages ago before we had such a sophisticated health service - often despite outside medical intervention rather than because of it. Cheers, am half way down the first glass and feeling better already.
