My GP thinks I may have asthma and I've got to have some tests but the likely outcome is that I'll be given a steroid inhaler to use. Not sure if I'm keen on that, but I need something to relieve the symptoms and I've been reading about the Cisca saltpipe - has anyone tried this, or one of the others that's available, and what did you think? Ta.

Asthma is a killer, do not mess about with things like saltpipes if your GP thinks you need a steroid inhaler.

I agree with daffy.....
Why don't you wait until you have had your tests and a diagnosis is forthcoming and THEN get back to us.
Cisca salt pipe just shoots salt into your lungs and in Chronic Bronchitis and or COPD it may well be helpful.

Just wait for a diagnosis eh?
Proofraider, my son has asthma and it took three a &e trips where he turned blue before he was given inhalers. They will only prescribe them if you need them. Touch wood, since he has been on preventers for two years now, it is much better controlled. It was terrifying at the time.
If you have any particular concerns about steroids, speak to your doctor when you have the results. But i really wouldn't take risks with asthma.
