OMG! I am on 80mg, hope it isn't true.
My thoughts:

Depends upon which study one reads, some studies show that it REDUCES the incidence of breast cancer and some show, as the study in the Daily Mail shows that it INCREASES breast cancer.

if i was a woman and had already had a heart attack or suffer from high BP or had a family history of heart disease or strokes, then i would feel justified in taking statins.
Please stop reading the Daily Mail smurf!

Maydup I think I will ...
There was another piece of research in another paper recently, which showed that the minor risk is outweighed by the benefits. I had a similar conversation with my GP some years back, about HRT and the risks associated - you have to weigh it up with your own known risks, on any medication.
ill stick with the statins, ( fingers crossed )
I stayed on hrt longer than I should have done at my own risk. Just after I'd given them up they came out with yet another report saying there wasn't a great risk. Everything seems at some point in time to cause breast cancer...it'll be eating too many maltesers next.
According to the daily mail baby lotion also gives you cancer. And they change their mind on a daily basis as to whether you should drink a glass of wine or not.
Stick to reading The Lancet , smurf . Though I'm not sure what their stance is on the royal baby and other great questions. Do they have a souvenir royal obstetrics issue?
