Is Tiredness/weekness A Possibility With Irritable Bowel Syndrome?
16 Answers
Ive visited my doctor today, and although im going to be having precautionary blood tests, doc is fairly sure I have either coeliac disease or ibs. Although with fatigue, Coeliac is more likely. But is ibs still a possibility with tiredness??
The thought of a gluten free diet for the rest of my life seems horrible!

I believe this may be a bit of strain though.. and a very slight sore throat that keeps coming and going.. could this be anything to do with them either? Although the doctor put my mind at ease.. I've still got to wait 2 weeksnfor blood tests.. so im still not 100% happy with what they've told me...
Give em hell JM if they say what you dont like
There is another thread about diagnosing Coeliac without a biopsy
in the end everyone agreed that one was necessary
as the treatment you have pointed out is so bleeeaaah !
BUT people do stick to a gluten free diet and do very well.
( did a cruise in Egypt where a fellow traveller needed a gluten free diet and the Egyptian cook didnt turn a hair. He used rice and potato flour - I had to translate 'he makes better bread than I do = huwa amal ahsan aaeesh minni )
and good luck - I would have thought tiredness with IBS is no great surprise

Well , you have answered yourself really - you are fed up, weary and worried about what 'may be' we all do it, despite knowing we shouldn't. It is no doubt affecting your sleep pattern too.
Try as hard as it is to relax, get some fresh air, keep up fluids and await the results of the tests.
