Feeling Ill With Cold Sore On Lip

Is it just me, or does anybody else get a general feeling of feeling ill when a cold sore appears on their lip.

My cold sore appeared yesterday and today I have a feeling of heavy headedness with heavy eyes and slightly off balance. This never happens if I get a cold sore on my nose only if it appears on my lip.

Swollen glands (which can lead to the effects you describe) are a recognised accompaniment to cold sores when the herpes simplex virus recurs:

Further, herpes simplex tends to recur when your bodies natural defences are low, so your lack of resistance to infection could mean that other factors are also in play.

oh dear,i have only just made a recovery which I struggled with for 7 weeks.
