individually they are high in calories. It doesn't mean they can't be a part of a balanced diet though.

I think the Mediterranean Diet is neither good or bad. It's all the red wine that continentals drink that accounts for their longevity.
I'm not so sure about pork pies. Wasn't it Pitt the Younger who ordered a Bellamy's pie to be delivered and then dropped dead just thinking about it?

You can buy a 425gm tub(1lb in old money). It's slightly viscous and makes a great snack of an evening sitting dipping your fingers into it and licking them clean as you watch the television.

a closet dripping eater? I call the stuff dripping in my closet "mould" and don't normally eat it at all.
Dripping has to have salt on it and salt is bad for you, as we all know.

According to an article in this week's Observer magazine, porridge and fruit are bad for you because of the sugar. I am terribly confused.

Actually, I don't think I could eat dripping now, or bacon grease. I could eat a pork pie though, with a bit of crust attached.

That's bad news. One of my last remaining pleasures in life was a breakfast of 5 heaped tablespoons of oats made into gruel with half a litre of water.
