I was under Salisbury for an L4/L5 disc protusion. They have an excellent team of spinal surgeons. I cannot comment on Frenchay.
There is an excellent chronic pain team at the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases in Bath. They were key in helping me learn to manage my chronic pain.
Few would have experience of both. Don't you go where the doc sends you, probably the nearest ? Frenchay is just down the road from where I grew up. I have a good opinion of it, but there again it's just an ex local's view of their hospital, I don't now how they compare.
