I've just heard that my Auntie (not a real blood Auntie, but a close friend of my family) has inoperable brain tumours. She's been given just a few months to live.

I've known her all my live. She is one of the kindest, most caring and loyal people I know.

It's just so unfair.

I don't have a question, I just wanted to share with you, I know you are all a compassionate bunch.

Sorry to hear that sp, life can be very unfair at times :(
what age, 2sp? If she's elderly, it's always a shame, if middle-aged, then that can be tragic....
Question Author
She is only in her early 60s. She has had so much tragedy in her life, lost her son in a car crash, survived cancer several times and looks after her teenage granddaughter since her son died (her daughter in law isn't fit to be a mother).

I'm planning to go and see her this week coming, I have to go before she forgets who everyone is.

How can one person suffer so much in life? I can't imagine her not being around.
Question Author
Sorry for bringing a downer to everyone's evening.
That's sad to hear. Some people have such tragic lives, x
God that's really sad, my heart really goes out to her poor grandaughter.
These things happen, 2sp and you are, rightly so, upset - and this is what AB is here for in part....
Very sad news, 2sp_, anyone would be upset on hearing that.
Question Author
Thanks everyone.

xx
Sorry to hear that :-(

Although she's had a hard time I'm sure the in-betweens were happy x

oh, 2sp_ words fail me

my thoughts are with you at this very emotional time
its true isn't it, some people do have quite tragic events happen to them, when others don't,:(
Sorry to hear that 2sp, a friend of ours died of brain tumours just a year ago, he was in his late 60's. He went into a hospice, and they were so kind and helpful to him, his wife visited every day, she said thet also helped her to come to terms with it, and he was a peace when he died. It's so sad.

Thank you all for your kind answers.

I feel so guilty for being so upset when her husband, daughter, surviving son and grandchildren are trying to deal with all of this.

And I feel guilty for being so upset when she is still alive!

(I do a good line in feeling guilty about stuff.)
2sp How awfully sad. Yes it does seem to be unfair. I wish I could say something to comfort b.oth of you. Be strong for her as obviously she has been strong for you. Talk of the good times you have had together
I am very sorry to hear your sad news 2sp, you have every right to be upset. I am sure she will very pleased to see you, and please keep the happy memories you have of her in your heart. xx

Mr P has just made me some hot chocolate, so I'm off to sit on the couch and get a cuddle.

Thank you all for being so kind.
That is sad news and you've every right to feel upset. I can't see that you have anything to feel guilty about.
Mr P sounds lovely and kind, don't feel guilty about caring so much about a good friend.
