Discomfort After Mammogram
53 Answers
Went for one yesterday, just an 'invitation to take up as you've reached that age'
(gee, thanks!)
Anyhoo, since the right breast took 3 attempts to x-ray have since been in discomfort, not in the breast, just the chest area around it and the right shoulder.
I've just strained the muscles a bit, I think.
Has anyone else suffered similarly?

\\\\\\they could have a breast cancer (not a lump) and not know it.\\\\
naaah!...that is fantasy.
I do not know the details of your friend, but almost certainly if this "thing" on mammogram had remained until it became palpable......the satisfactory outcome would have been the same.
However, I was commenting on MEN....as i mentioned.

It would cost a fortune to routinely scan men for breast cancer wouldn`t it? The incidence is so low that it would not be cost effective, surely? If they find a lump, they get an ultrasound (as women do).
Alba, I had my first ever mammogram a few months ago and it only hurt while they were doing it but when I mentioned it to a friend of mine, she said she hurt for about 3 days after hers.

I remember my first mammogram...... and it really hurt.! I also had to have mine done 2 or 3 times. my leg was shaking with the pain and I hadnt realised it...very off putting. However I did go back again and theis time knew what to expect plus the lady was nicer..no trouble... I think prehaps the machine was slightly too high the first time which meant it was pulling. Sounds like the same has happened to you. Better next time for you also I hope. xBrenda
