Paracetamol And Back Pain

According to a news report a day or so ago, Paracetamol is not effective for back pain. I was beginning to wonder. I get back pain just about waist level, which I get mostly at night when in bed, has anyone found an effective relief for back pain.

Why not try Ibuprofen 400 mgms?

I take 400mg ibuprofen , which certainly helps. When it is bad then I add a couple of paracetemol based tablets as well, eg Solpadol.

When Mrs9401 had a bout of severe back pain she was advised to altenate 400mg every two hours with 1000mg paracetamol until the pain passed.
For her latest bout though, the operative on the end of the phone suggested using both at the same time. It certainly took the edge off, at least allowing a little mobility for, ahem, comfort breaks.
Give it a bash and see how it goes, mintymow. Hope it eases soon.

I found some 'long lasting' ibroprufen in Sainsbury - it's got a coating on it, according to the pharmacist, that dissolves very slowly, allowing the drug to actually get into the blood stream slower and steadier. I found it really helped when I had my 'night-time only' back pain.
