My podiatrist recommends that once purchased they are thrown straight in the bin before serious damage is done by over enthusiastic amateurs.
A visit to a pro then moisturising with the cheapest aqueous cream available (Aldi, £1.99/500g) works well.

2sp - on a previous similar thread I recommended this - it's brilliant, you don't have to faff around soaking, just get the sandpaper out :-)
